The Club

Down the street from 7-Hell Convenience, The ConXtion is the closest thing Northside has to nightlife. It's rarely empty. The music never really stops. Half the appeal is the room itself — the other half is the staff, who are paid as much to be seen as to do any particular job.

The Draw
The floor staff don't serve drinks — they perform. Flirting, bracelets, staged chemistry, the occasional very public makeout. Word of mouth does the rest: "I saw two cute emo boys kissing, we should go there sometime."
The Rooms
A few spare rooms nobody talks about directly. Rumor says some staff make extra cash beyond a shift's pay. Nobody's confirmed how. Nobody who'd know is saying.
Ownership
Nobody currently working there can actually name an owner. Paychecks clear. The building's maintained. The money traces back to no one anybody's ever met.
The Currency
Attention. Who's talking to who, who got dropped from whose Top 8, who threw a drink at who last Friday. The club runs on gossip as much as it runs on cover charges.

The Cast

Not a formal crew — just the people whose lives overlap here most nights, whether they're on the clock or not.

Kaleb, Gaige & Peter
The performance unit
Hired to be a spectacle, not to pour drinks. Genuinely close with each other — the chemistry on the floor is work, whatever's real between them is a separate, quieter thing.
Endri
Not staff. Somehow always here.
No badge, no shifts, no boss. Just an angle — grab something off a shelf, tell the right person they should buy it, and somehow it works. The club lets him run it because it works.
Magnus
Employment status: variable
Quits mid-shift over almost anything. Comes back the next day like it never happened. Good at the job when he feels like it — commitment is the only thing he's actually bad at.
Everette
Loud, protective, resets fast
Starts more fights than anyone in the building and means the least harm by it. Twenty minutes after security pulls him off someone, he's laughing about it.
Devin
Everyone's favorite person to tell things to
The most trusted person on shift, somehow, despite — or because of — being the most flirtatious. Ends up knowing everyone's business without ever asking for it.
Eryx
Doesn't work here. Never not here.
A Northside regular who's folded himself into this group's orbit without ever clocking in. Genuinely loved by most of them. Has also, at different points, been the reason a couple of them stopped answering their phone.

Storyline

Unlike 7-Hell, nothing here is building toward one central mystery — yet. Chapter 1 is just the mess as it currently stands.

Chapter 1
Everybody's Business

By any measure The ConXtion is doing fine — packed most nights, the floor staff pulling their usual crowd, the rumor mill running exactly as loud as the music. What's less fine, depending who you ask, is everyone's actual personal life.

Devin and Kaleb made out once and both agree it meant nothing. Everette insists his thing with Devin meant something; Devin genuinely doesn't remember it that way. Endri tried his usual pitch on Devin and struck out for the first time anyone's seen. Magnus and Gaige had a moment before he did his usual disappearing act, and now neither of them is totally sure what it was. Gaige swears he saw Peter kissing Endri once. Peter says he was high.

And then there's Eryx — technically not staff, never actually absent. Sweet, funny, a lot to hold. Ask Gaige. Ask Devin, if he'll pick up. The two people who'd know best both went quiet on him the same way, for the same reason, at different times.

Everette and Magnus can't stand each other — one shows up loud for everyone, the other doesn't show up at all half the time, and neither can let it go. Everette and Eryx fight more than any other two people here, mostly because Everette's the only one who never actually gets the last word.

Nobody's asking who owns the building. Nobody's asking what the spare rooms are actually for. There's better gossip tonight.
